HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-23-1967 1741 Alley Vacation Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot Number, Two Hundred Sixty-seven (267) in Beallview Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana thence west fifteen (15) feet more or less tothe northeast corner of Lot Number Three Hundred Twenty- ' five (325) in said addition; thence south to the southeast corner of Lot Number Three Hundred Twenty-eight (328) ; thence east fifteen (15) feet more or less to the southwest e6rner of Lot Number Two Hundred Seventy (270) in said addition; thence north to the place of beginning. The City of Richmond reserves the right to maintain any sewers now located in said street and alley. The property which may be injuriously or beneficially affected by the proposed vacation is as to. the proposed street vacation. Lots numbered Two Hundred One (201) through Two Hundred Thirteen (213) and Lots numbered Two Hundred Fifty-eight (258) through Two Hundred Seventy (270), all in Beallview Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana, owned by Eaton Yale & Towne, Inc. ; . all land on either side of the proposed alley vacation being Lots numbered Two Hundred Sixty-seven (267) through Two Hundred Seventy (270) and Lots Numbered Three. Hundred Twenty-five (325) through Three Hundred Twenty-eight (328), in said addition,, owned by Eaton Yale & Towne, Inc. Mr. Keller moved the date of April 6, 1967 at the hour of 10:00 o'clock a.m. (est) be sef7Eiearing on Declaratory Resolution No. 1-1967, and further the petitioners be motified that the expense of publication of notice of hearing be borne by the petitioners. Mr. Gehr seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Jameson moved the City Attorney be authorized to prepare an Ordinance for Council's consideration to transfer the sum of $106,000.00 from the Cumula- tive Building Fund for the purpose of purchasing lands and improvements for the erection of a Municipal Building.. Mr. Jameson presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Gehr and Mr. Keller. The following business was had to-wit: . Mr. Keller moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved without being read aloud, seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the claims be allowed and paid, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. Chief Stultz presented the following which was read: March 23, 1967 Board of Public Works & Safety Richmond, Indiana Gentlemen: Request permission to' have Sgt. Thurlow Harter and two other young police. Officers attend the two day Emergency Aid ah3 Transportation Institute for Police, Fireman, Attendants & Related Groups April 27 & 28, 1967 at Indianapolis,Indiana. Tuition fees are $7.00 per person. Weather permitting the officers can drive over each day, in city car. Meals will run approx, $2.50 each per day. Total cost $36.00 plus transportation. There are funds available in the instruction account for this school. Respectfully, /s/ William K. Chief Stultz presented the following which was read: March 23, 1967 Board of Public Works & Safety Richmond, Indiana Gentlemen: Request permission to have Police officer Gerald Hiatt moved up to rank of regular officer. He completed his one year probationary period March 16, 1967. 175 With the Boards permission will have the 'records show officer Hiatt become a regular officer March 16, 1967. Stultz Chief of Police Mr. Gehr moved the Board concur in the recommendation of Gerald Hiatt being - promoted from Probationary Patrolman to the rank of regular officer of the Police Department. Mr. Keller seconded the motion and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr presented the tabulation of bids received March 16, 1967 for the demolation of properties for the. new' CityBuilding. DeBolt Concrete Company $22,500.00 Mike DeLucio and Son 23,900.00 King Wrecking Company 26,600.00 Cleveland Wrecking Company 27,440.00 Mr. Gehr recommended the bid of the DeBolt Comcrete Company be accepted, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Jameson presiding with the following members being- present: Mr. Gehr and Mr. Keller. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Keller moved the minutes be approved without being read aloud, seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the claims be allowed and paid, seconded by Mr. Keller and on ' voice vote was carried. - Mayor Cordell reported that Whitewater Boulevard along the Whitewater •river has been resurfaced. Bridge Avenue is next on the program to resurface. Chief Stultz presented the following which was read aloud: March 30, 1967 "Board of Public Works & Safety Richmond, Indiana Gentlemen: Request permission to have Michael J. Tyra, Stephen Benjamin Sanford and John William Bowman appointed to the Richmond Indiana Police department as probationary officers. The three young men have passed all of the requirements necessary to become probationary officers on the Richmond Police department. With the Boards permission will have the records show that Mr. Tyra, Mr. Sanford & Mr. Bowman will be placed on the Police department pay roll April 3, 1967. Respectfully, /s/ William K. Stultz Chief of Police Mr. Gehr moved the Board appoint Michael J. Tyra, Stephen B. Sanford and John W. Bowman as probationary officers of the Police Department as of April 3, 1967. Mr. Keller seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. Chief Stultz requested permission to send Officer Dudley Goodwin to the Police Firearms Instructor's Course to be held at Indiana University May 1 to 5, 1967. Mr. ' Gehr moved permission be granted, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. Dog Warden, K. Christian, reported that the motor in his truck is in need of repair. The Board authorized the motor to be repaired immediately. Chief Price presented preliminary rules and regulations for the Fire Department. The Board took under advisement the rules and regulations for study. Chief Price reported that Ora Williams has been off duty with a heart condition since December 27, 1966. Dr. Sage, the attending physician for Williams, reported that a complete report on Ora Williams couldn't be determined for another 30 days. The Board authorized Chief Price to give notice in writing that an extension of 30 days would be given Ora Williams for a final report on his health condition. Mr. Gedvillas reported that there are now ion hand 100 copies of the Master Plan which costs $8.00 per copy. . There have been 28 copies distributed to various agencies such as Morrison Reeves Library, Utilities, Banks, etc. for the public to inspect. After much discussion on the matter of communication to the public on what the Master Plan's function contains, it wos decided to make a reprint of the map of the Comprehensive Master Plan in large pamphlet form and on the reverse side print answers to many questions that have been presented. Mr. Gedvillas stated that a resolution from the Plan Commission in regards tothe Master Plan would be ready for Council's consideration April 3, 1967.
