Total Increasre/Mo. 29.05 Mr. Gehr moved the two estimates be approved, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. Mr. James L. Lahey, President of Clearview Cable of Richmond, Inc. and Mr. George Tripp, an attorney, appeared before the Board. Mr. Lahey presented a check in the amount of $25,000.00 payable to the City of Richmond, Indiana which was in the proposal as submittted by the Clearview Cable of Richmond, Inc. Mr. Keller moved the records show acknowledgement of the check in the sum of $25,000.00 being received and further two copies of said proposal and franchise agreement which are signed by both parties be furnished to Mr. Lahey. Mr. Jameson presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Gehr and Mr. Keller. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Keller moved to amend the previous minutes to read a check in the amount of $4,772.00 will be received instead of was received in the Conspiracy Cases against Salt Companies. Mr. Keller moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as amended with- out being read aloud, seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the claims be allowed and paid, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the request of the Reid Memorial Hospthtal Campaign. Committee for assistance from the Fire Department to hang a vinyl sign on the Peoples building be approved. Mr. Keller seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the request of the Christian Church State Convention Committee be granted permission to place 2' x 3° durable signs on the highways leading into the city with the stipulation that this be under the supervision of the Traffic Division. Mr. Keller seoondel this motion and on voice vote was carried. Captain Stout reported that a study is being made by the Traffic Division to eliminate the traffic oongestion that is being created on Fridays between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on North 7th Street. Mr. Gehr moved the curb cut request made by the Lutheran Church for a drive-way be approved, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice To Bidders printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of February 20 - 27, 1967. Said notice designated that on the date of March 9, 1967 at theihour of 10:00 a.m. sealed bids would be received, opened and read aloud for furnishing the Richmond Police Department with 2 new 1967 cars according to specifications on file. Mr. Keller examined the proofs of publication and found the same to be correct and in order and so moved the same be received and filed. Mr. Gehr seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. March 9, 1967 at the hour of 10:00 o'clock a.m. (est) being the date and time to open and read aloud all bids received. The following bids were read aloud: Kurdys Chevrolet, Inc. Fred First Ford, Inc. Mr. Gehr moved the bids be referred to Chief Stultz and Mr. Jameson for tabulation, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. 172 Mr. Longer reported that he had made an investigation of the complaint of the Y.M.C.A. of causing a nuisance of trash being strewn on other people's property. Mr. Longer said that on his two investigations no violation was found. Mr. Jameson presented a copy of the letter that was sent to Mr. Raysor Thomas, owner of the property located at 1210 Boyer Street. The letter set out the date of March 9, 1967 at the hour of 10:00 a.m. for Mr. Thomas to appear before this Board to show cause why the order of Commissioner of Buildings hadn't been complied with in the matter of the condemnation of the structure located at 1210 Boyer Street. Mr. Thomas failed to appear as requested. Mr. Carver, of the Redevelopment Department, reported his findings on the complaints lodged by the neighbors near the location of this structure. The situation that now exists is a health menace as well as an eye-sore to the neighborhood. 24f,eh., Mr. Keller moved the Board of Works rrm the order of the Commissioner of Buildings and further the Commissioner of Buildings proceed with the proper advertising and posting that is required by law to receive bids for the wrecking and removal of the structure located at 1210 Boyer Street. Mr. Gehr seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. The Board authorized the City Controller to send a letter to the manager of the Vita-Fair Drug Store to remove a deposit box that is located on the sidewalk on the east side of said store. City Engineer Gehr stated that his office hasn't received a petition signed by 51% of the property owners who have expressed that a sanitary sewer be constructed on North 12th Street and also New Paris Pike. This project will heve to be constructed under the Barrett Bond system. Chief Stuttz presented the following which was read aloud: March 16, 1967 Board of Public Works & Safety Richmond, Indiana Gentlemen: Recommend with regret the Board accept the retirement of Officer Paul Cornelison. Officer Cornelison has been a good, hard working, loyal officer for 20 years. But ask that I give the Board the attached letter.- With the Board permission will have the records show Officer Paul Cornelison retired from the Richmond Police department March 15, 1967.
