SECTYON 8-51
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING RATES OR CHARGES FOR THE USE OF
AND SERVICE SUPPLIED BY THE COMBINED WATER WORKS AND
SEWERAGE SYSTEM OF THE VILLAGE OF PLATNFIELD
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, AS FOLLOWS:
Sec. 1: That Section 8-51(1) of Chapter 8 of the Code of
Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield is hereby
amended in its entirety as follows:
There is hereby established rates ar charges for the
use of and service supplied by the combined water works
and sewerage system of the Village of Plainfield as
follows:
(1) Far water usage as indicated by the water meter.
a. A minimum charge of seven dollars and fifty cents
($7.50) per quarter for the first five hundred
(500) cubic feet of water or part thereof
furnished during the quarter;
b. A rate of one dollar and seventy-five cents
($1.75) far each additional one hundred (100)
cubic feet of water or part thereof in excess of
five hundred (500) furnished during the quarter;
c. Far water service only furnished to customers
outside the corporate limits of the village, the
rate :hall be two (2.00) times the aforesaid
rates in paragraph (1) for water furnished to
customers inside the corporate limits of the
village.
Sec. 2: That paragraphs a., b., c. and g. of Section 8-51
(2) are repealed in their entirety and in their
places inserted the following:

a. Basic user rate: There shall be and there is
hereby established a minimum charge and a basic
user rate for the use of and for service supplied
by the Waste Water Facilities of the Village of
Plainfield. A minimum charge of eleven dollars
and fifty cents ($11.50) per quarter shall be
applied to all users inside the corporate limits
of the Village of Plainfield whose water
consumption does not exceed one thousand (1000)
cubic feet per quarter. Of this eleven dollars
and fifty cents ($11.50), ten dollars and no
cents ($10.00) is for operation, maintenance and
replacement costs and one dollar and fifty cents
($1.50) is for expansion, improvement of the
sewage treatment works and sewer system.
b. A user rate of one dollar and twenty-five cents
($1.25) per one hundred (100) cubic feet shall be
applied to all users inside the corporate limits
of the Village of Plainfield for water
consumption in excess of one thousand (1000)
cubic feet per quarter. Of this one dollar and
twenty-five cents ($1.25) per one hundred (100)
cubic feet, one dollar and ten cents ($1.10) per
one hundred (100) cubic fee is for operation,
maintenance and replacement costs and fifteen
cents ($0.15) per one hundred (100) cubic feet is
for extension, improvement of the sewage
treatment works and sewer system.
g. Far sewer service furnished outside the corporate
limits of the village, all of the above charges
in paragraph (2) shall be two (2.00) times the
aforesaid rates for sewer service furnished to
customers inside the corporate limits of the
village.
Sec. 3: That Section 8-48 of Chapter 8 of the Cade of
Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield be
amended in its entirety to read as follows:
Rates or charges under this article shall be
payable at least on a quarterly basis. All bills
for service rendered shall be payable not later
than fifteen (15) days after issuance of same.
The customer, the owner of the premises, the
occupant thereof and the user of the service
shall be jointly and severally liable to pay for
the service on such premises, and the service
furnished to the premises by the village only
upon the condition that said customer, owner,

occupant and user are jointly and severally
liable therefor to the village.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval as required by law.
This Ordinance shall be numbered as ordinance No. 1395 .
