ORDINANCE NO. 1394
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL PUBLIC SAFETY AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING
THE WESTERN WILL COUNTY COMMUNICATION CENTER.
WHEREAS, the Villages of Channahon, Plainfield and
Shorewood, as well as the Channahon, Plainfield, Troy, and
Lockport Fare Protection Districts, (hereinafter referred to as
the "AGENCIES"), wash to enter into a certain INTERGOVERNMENTAL.
PUBLIC SAFETY AGREEMENT establishing a centralized Public Safety
Communication System; and
WHEREAS, the AGENCIES have determaned that there is a need
for a centralized public safety communications system to serve
the needs of their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the AGENCIES that public
safety communication is of value on an individual and mutual
basis; and
WHEREAS, a centralized public safety communications system
can adequately serve the needs of all of such AGENCIES; and
WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 10 of the 1970 Constitution of
the State of Illinois authorizes joint exercise by two or more
governments of any power common to them; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the AGENCIES to jointly
establish, maintain and operate a centralazed public safety
communications system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, AS FOLLOWS:
I The President is hereby authorized to execute and the
Village Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to the
document entitled "INTERGOVERNMENTAL PUBLIC SAFETY
AGREEMENT", a copy of which is attached hereto and made
a part hereof.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval as required by law.
This Ordinance sha11 be numbered as ordinance No. 1394
PASSED THIS 2nd DAY OF March , 1992.
