HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-16-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, JUNE 16, 2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., June 16, 2022 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Matt Evans. Absent was Emily Palmer. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Kara Noe, Purchasing; Denise Retz, Park Superintendent; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of June 9, 2022, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for June 17, 2022 in the amount of Two Hundred Forty Two Thousand Three Hundred Eighty Five Dollars and eighty eight cents ($242,385.88), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payment Claims for Payment for June 17, 2022 in the amount of Nine Hundred Three Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty Seven Dollars and thirty seven cents ($903,737.37), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS • METAL ROOF FOR AIRPORT • Board of Works Minutes June 16,2022 There was one bid submitted from Perseponko Painting in the amount of$4,600.00 This bid was taken under advisement. • CLUBHOUSE ELECTRICAL REPLACEMENT AT HIGHLAND LAKE GOLF COURSE Bids submitted are as follows: AMP Electric - $18,838.06 Carroll Electric - $17,700.00 These bids were taking under advisement • CRACK SEALING PROJECT There was one bid submitted from Pavement Solutions in the amount of$130,149.00. This bid was taken under advisement. BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 96-2022—KELLY'S KAWASAKI City retains Contractor to furnish a new 2022 Kawasaki Utility Terrain Vehicle including the furnishing of a new grader blade attachment and with installation of accessories for the Greenhouse for the Parks Department. The funds are coming from the American Rescue dollars. Not to exceed $23,973.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS -None RESOLUTIONS • RESOLUTION NO. 6-2022 — AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF ONE PERMANENT AND TWO TEMPORARY RIGHT-OF-WAY EASEMENTS INDOT is seeking one (1) permanent right-of-way grant for an approximate 539 square foot strip of area located on the west side of a City parking lot located on South 9th Street. INDOT is also seeking two(2)temporary right-of-way easements consisting of a combined approximate 767 square foot total area for driveway construction areas which are located on the west side of a City parking lot located on South 9th Street. Easement area is Board of Works Minutes June 16,2022 approximately 592 square foot on the east side of the parking lot. The State will pay the City a fee of$7,100.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PETITIONS • CURB CUT—220 SOUTH 5TH STREET Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CURB CUT—168 SW 16TH STREET Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS Ms. Robinson gave a reminder that there will be no BOW meeting next on Thursday, June 23, 2022. ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
