Cliff verified that we do have the 11 duplex pads in the yard.
When I asked why then did he use two pads, he stated that he saw a discrepancy in the counts of pads and decided to use these in that location particular location because it seemed the
least affected by size and talked to John L about it.
Thanks,
John Zoerhof

The depth of the space on Hidden Harbor drive where we are installing the open delta at the top of the hill would benefit from using two single phase pads as we need to be 6 feet off
the road and we only had inches to spare.
This is the only place I know of that we would benefit by using two pads.

I am looking into why they used 2 pads when there are supposed to be single duplex pads in the yard.

Two pads require a space of 54" x 96", while one 3phase pad requires 60" x 80". So, for space, one is better. I will look into what they are doing. We have some locations along Hidden
Harbor road that would benefit from the reduced depth.
Is JD the Contract Rep on this job?

Danny,
FYI .................. The job was MECA'd & issued 11 Duplex pads, but if the installation is tight, as in the past, the 2-pad configuration can work.
And, no, no shortage of concrete pads.

Do you look at the FPL Distribution Construction Standards. This setup is correct. Make sure the ground has been compacted and that pads are level.
Make sure the leading phase is going into the lighting transformer.
John, Did you approve the contractor using two single phase pads versus the three phase pad for open delta banks? Does FPL have a material shortage problem?

Before we get too far here, what is the set up with respect to the transformer locations? This looks to me like the low profile will be on the left. Is that correct?
