A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
A CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES WITH TAFOYA & GARCIA, LLP AND
APPOINTING DAVID A. GARCIA AS CITY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood terminated its contract with
Aleshire & Wynder, LLP and Fred Galante as City Attorney on January 14, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the City Council appointed Tafoya & Garcia, LLP on January 14,
2014 to provide legal counsel and represent the city's interests in legal matters; and
WHEREAS, the City Council appointed David A, Garcia, LLP on January 14,
2014 as the City Attorney to fulfill . the duties and responsibilities of the office of City
Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood and Tafoya & Garcia, LLP wishes to enter into
Contract for City Attorney Services; and appoint David A. Garcia as City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Lynwood City Council awards a Contract Services
Agreement for City Attorney Services as attached to this Resolution with the law firm of
Tafoya & Garcia, LLP and hereby appoints David A. Garcia as City Attorney.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute said the Contract services
Agreement for City Attorney Services with the law firm of Tafoya & Garcia, LLP and the
City of Lynwood in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4th day of February, 2014.
