SUBJECT: CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 13-4893
CONFIRMING APPOINTMENT TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to adopt proposed Resolution No. 13-4893 confirming the
appointment of Kristel Haddad to the Parks & Recreation Commission with the term of
office ending June 30, 2014.

1. On November 16, 2012, staff advertised the Parks and Recreation Commission
opening on the City's website, notice board, City Manager's Report and Temple City
Tribune.
2. On December 13, 2012, six applications were received.
3. In January, 2013, Parks and Recreation Commission Appointment Ad Hoc
Committee (i.e., Councilmember Chavez and Mayor Pro Tem Sternquist) reviewed
the six applications and directed staff to set up interviews with four of the applicants.
4. On January 10, 2013, applicants were interviewed by the Parks and Recreation
Commission Appointment Ad Hoc Committee for the one commission seat opening.
5. On January 15, 2013, at the City Council Regular City Council Meeting, the Parks
and Recreation Commission Appointment Ad Hoc Committee reported that they are
recommending two final applicants for final interview in front of full Council on
February 5 at 6:30 pm.
6. On February 5, 2013, City Council appointed Kristel Haddad to the Parks &
Recreation Commission.

ANALYSIS:
The appointment of Ms. Haddad to the Parks and Recreation Commission will fill one
unexpired term of office ending June 3, 2014. A resolution of appointment is presented
for Council's consideration and adoption. If appointed, the appointee will receive the
Oath of Office at the February 19 City Council Meeting.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to adopt proposed Resolution No. 13-4893 confirming
appointment of Kristel Haddad to the Parks & Recreation Commission with term of
office ending June 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-13 City Budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY CONFIRMING APPOINTMENT TO THE PARKS AND
RECREATION COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Kristel Haddad is hereby appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission of
the City of Temple City. Said term to expire on June 30, 2014.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
