HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-04-1965 • 203 B OARD OF PUBLIC baORKS AND SAFETY FEBRUARY 4, 1965 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in regular session in the City Hall in said City, Thursday, February 4, 1965, at the hour of 9:00 o'clock a.m. (est). Mr. Jameson presiding with the following members being present, Mr. Gehr and Mr.Kemper. The following business was had to-wit: The Clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting. There being no corrections or additions Mr. Kemper moved the minutes be approved, seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the claims be allowed, seconded by Mr. Kemper and on voice vote was carried. I the following letter was presented: 1 February 3, 1965 Mr. Henry Jameson, President Board of Public Works and Safety City of Richmond, Indiana Dear Mr.Jameson: I wish to present the application and medical report of Edwin LeRoy Clopp to the Board of Public Works and Safety. His medical report has been checked and approved by the trustees of the Pension Fund. I would recommend to the Board of Works that this applicami be accepted as of February 15, 1965. I recommend to the Board of Public Works and Safety that he be put on as a regular Fireman as of February 1, 1965. Respectfully submitted, /s/ Ernest Fredricks, Chief Richmond Fire Department City of Richmond, Indiana Mr. Gehr moved that Edwin LeRoy Glopp be appointed to the Fire Department as of Feb- 11/ ruary 15, 1965 as probationary fireman and Larry Boswell be appointed as regular fireman as of February 1, 1965. This motion was seconded by Mr. Kemper and on voice vote was carried. - Mr. Gehr presented a request to cut the curb at 1526 South 6th Street, per Walter Hurley. The Traffic Department has been consulted and found no objections. dr. Gehr moved the curb cut be permitted, seconded by Mr. Kemper and on voice vote was Parried. Mr. Jameson presented the tabulations on the Tree Removal bids received January 28,1965. Helms, Greenville, Ohio $15.00 per tree Arthur Richards p14.00 per tree Foister Miracle $11.00 per tree - After much discussion on the/bidder being equipped to do the work necessary, Don McBride stated that he had no objection to awarding the bid to the low bidder. Mr. Gehr moved the bid of the Foister Miracle be accepted in the amount of p11.00 per tree and further that the City Attorney prepare a contract to be signed by Mr. Miracle' and the Board of Works. Mr. Kemper seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. Mayor Cordell stated that a meeting would be held in his office on this date at 11:00 A.M. with all Department Heads for discussion on the emergency problems that has been caused by the fire at the Telephone Company. All telephones are out of service in the City. There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting adjourned. i;.„,g9i ...
