HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-22-1964 173 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY THURSDAY, OCTOBER 221 1964 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the City Hall in said City, Thursday, October 22, 1964 at the hour of 8:30 o'clock a.m. Mr. Jameson presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Gehr and Mr. Kemper. The following businesswas had to-wit: Mr. Kemper moved the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. This motion was seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the bills be allowed, seconded by-Mr. Kemper and on voice tote the motion was carried. IIIMr. Gehr presented the plans, specifications, profiles and estimate to construct a surface water drainage sewer from the parking lot of the Belden Manufacturing Company to and along the _Waterfalls Road. Mr. Kemper moved the plans, specifications, profile and estimate to construct the surface water drainage sewer be accepted and the Clerk prepare the proper advertising to receive bids to construct said sewer on the 12th day of November, 1964, at the hour of 9:00 o'clock a.m. Mr. Gehr seconded this motion and on voice-vote the motion was carried. Mr. Jameson presented the Richmond Power and Light Plant estimate to install and maintain the following street lighting installations: 3 street lights along Flately Road, south of Cain Lake Road and the cost to be $4.00 each per month or $12.00 for the three. 11 street lights between National Raod and Southwest "E" Street on College Avenue. There will be three street lights removed that are of older type. The total cost for maintain- ing these 11 street lights will be $36.95 per month. Mr. Keeper moved that the above installations be accepted and that Mr. Jameson notify the Light Plant of this action. This motion was seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried. The Clerk presented proof of publication of notice showing that on September 28 and October 5, 1964 notice had been duly published in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a daily newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, of a public hearing on Improve- IIIment Resolution No. 1068-1964. Mr.Kemper examined the proof of publication and found the same to be correct and in order and moved the proof of publication be accepted and filed. This motion was seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried. October 22, 1964 being the date designated for hearing on Improvement Resolution No. 1068- 1964, the Board took up Improvement Resolution No. 1068-1964 for hearing and consideration. No remonstrance of any kind to said Improvement Resolution 1068-1964 was presented or filed with the Board. After such hearing and determination, Mr. Gehr moved that Improvement Resolution No. 1068- 1964 be confirmed as adopted. Mr. Kemper seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr reported that plans, specifications, estimate and etc., were on file in his office to do the work as provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 1068-1964, and moved the Clerk prepare the advertising to receive bids on the 12th day of November, 1964 at the hour of 9:00 o'clock a.m. for the work to be done. Mr. Kemper seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried.
