HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-16-1964 156 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY Thursday, Julz_16, 1g64 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City df Richmond, Indiana met in regular session in the City Hall, Thursday, July 16, 1964 at the hour of 9:00 o'clock a.m. Mr. Jameson presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Gehr and Mr. Kemper. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Kemper moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. This motion was seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the claims be allowed. This motion was seconded by Mr. Kemper and, on voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Poynter, representative of the Duncan Parking Meter Company appeared before the Board and presented the following quotations on 20 new parking meters to replace the old ones on the North 10th Street parking lot. Price for 1 Parking meter $63.25 Trade-in for 1 Parking meter ,�Q�, .+, 53.25 Less 5% Discount 2.66 Net price for-1 Parking meter $50.59 Total price for 20 Parking Meters $1,011.80 Mr. Gehr moved that the City purchase 20 parking meters at the above price quoted. This motion was seconded by Mr. Kemper and on voice vote the motion was carried. Mr.. Gehr was authorized to negotiate with Mr. Russell Commons and obtain an ease ment in the sum of $125.00 for land that the Berry Field Storm Sewer will go through. Mr. Gehr moved that this Board go on record of recognizing the Declaratory Resolution No. 4-1961, which was adopted by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana on the 19th day of March, 1961. This said Declaratory Resolution requested that the Judge of the Wayne-Circuit Court appoint three disinterested free-holders to appraise No. 4 Fire House situated at the corner of South 9th and E Street in said City. The three appraisers made the following appraisal $22,50040. Fire Chief Fredricks requested that a fire hydrant be installed on South 8th Street approximately 20 to 30 feet beyond the Eaton Mfg. Co. from the southeast corner of said building. Mr. Gehr moved that the Board concur in the request of the Fire Chief. This motion was seconded by Mr. Kemper and voice vote was carried. Fire Chief Fredricks requested that two street lights be installed on Whitewater Blvd., between the 20th Century Bridge and the Pennsylvania Railroad bridge. This is the location of the firemen training site. Mr. Kemper moved that the Board concur in the request of the Fire Chief. This motion was seconded by Mr. Gehr and on voice vote was carried.
