The Fire Chief presented the following letter: 11/ May 6, 1964 To The Board of Works` Richmond, Indiana Gentlemen: Recently we have received numerous inquiries from the residents on Chester Blvd., who reside in the area from the 1800 block to the 2500 block, wanting to know why there are no fire hydrants in this span. This is a span of over 3000'feet. I feel, in order to give these residents proper fire protection, there should be at least 3 hydrants installed in this area. I recommend that the Board of Works issue, by letter, an order to the Richmond Water Works for the installation of these hydrants. I understand there is no cost to the City for this installation. Respectfully, /s/ Ernest Fredricks,Chief Richmond Fire Dept. Mr. Kemper moved that the Board concur in the recommendation of the Fire Chief and that the Clerk notify the Water Works of this action.
