HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-24-1963 91 BOARD OF PUBLIC- WORKS AND SAFETY OCTOBER 24, 1963 The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session with City Attorney Cecere presiding - All members present - The following business was had to wit : The Board approved a request made by the Downtown Richmond, Inc. Merchants Association for the Fire Department to participate in the 11 Annual Christmas Street Decorating Program, by erecting and dismant- ling the decorations. The Board approved a request by representives of the Texaco Service Station at Hayes Aboretum Road and US #40 East to erect a 50ft. high sign, subject to the sign being contained on their own property. The Baord approved a request by the Downtown Richmond Inc . for per- mission to hold a Christmas parade November 29, 1963 - at 1 ;30 or 2 ;00 PM, with Rollf Wadman parade supervisor. A request for a Street Light at 16th And North "J" Street , was re- ferred to the Engineering Department for recommendation. A complaint of an undesirable barn at the rear of 222 South 14th Street was referred to the Bureau of Buildings for investigation. - The Board approved a plat, sewer and street plans for the Richwood Sub-Division, and the replat of Earlham second Addition. The Board referred a petition, signed by property owners for the construction of a Sanitary Sewer, abutting on Porterfield Ave. from Knox Avenue to National Road West, to the Engineering Depart- ment to prepare an estimate and to ascertain each property owners portion of the cost.
