OCTOBER17, 1963 'the Board of Pubilc Works and Safety met in regular session with City Att- orney Cecere presidingp All members present - The following business was had to wit : William Grable, General Manager of the Wayne Dairy Products Corp. appear- ed before the Board and reported that the Wayne Dairy Retail Store wduld be closing soon and a carry-out Dairy store would be opened on the Southeast corner of South 6th and "A" Street, and requested curb cuts on South 6th & "A Streets. The Board approved the curb cuts as requested. The Board approved a curb cut at 32 South llth St . , requested by Walter mannlnc . for a private drive. The Board approved a request for a curb cut for private drive, requested by Josejhine Burdette, between 609-613 Sheridan Street. The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set to open sealed bids for the purchase of air automobile for the use of the Police Department. The proof was accepted and ordered filed. One bid was received from Kurdys Chevrolet - they bid a net price of $1680.32 plus trade in of a 1960 Chev. and a 1956 Chev. for a 1964 Chev. Biscayne 2 door 8 Cyl. Model 1211. Bid taken under advisement. A ,petition for street lights on Porterfield was referred to the RP&L for recommendation and an estimate of cost. A Petition for Street Lights on South 3rd Street at "C" & "D" Streets was referred to the PR&L for recommendation and an estimate of cost. The Board approved the estimate of the RP&L of $1057.71 for the install- ation of the automatic traffic signal at 18th & National Road West - State Highway Department furnishing the materials. The Board approved a request from the Board of Directors of Downtown Richmond Inc . to authorize Bench Ad of Indiana Inc. to place two (2) benches along side of the Hooks Drug Store on South 8th Street, for the use of people waiting on buses. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bidders for the construction of a Sanitary sewer division "A" in South Richmond - to be bid in sections - 1. South 13th, Short and part of 14th St. - 2. Sharron, "T" and part of 14th Street. City Engineer Sherick reported that Assessment Roll No. 1052-1963, "THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE STREET FROM SOUTH "L" TO "M" EAST OF THE FIRE STATION AT SOUTH 8TH & "L". was cor4lete, and set the date of November 7, 1963 for a public hearing.
