HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-29-1963 83 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY AUGUST 29, 1963 The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session with City Attorney Cecere presiding. City Controller Tiffany was absent. The following business was had to wit: A group of women presented the Board a petition to register a complaint of _ the unsanitary conditions on the premises at 712 Northwest "E" Street, re- ferred to the Health Department, for investigation. The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set to hear persons interested in Improvement Resolution No.1058-1963. The con- struction of a sanitary sewer `tDiVision A" South Richmond-l3th-l4th-15th- 16th-Sharron-Short & "T" Streets. No persons appeared to remonstrate- the clerk was instructed to advertise for bidders for the construction .to be opened September 19, 1963. City Engineer Sherick reported that specifications and plans have been completed for Improvement Resolution No. 1059-1963, fhe construction of a sanitary sewer in South Richmond Division TB"-in the vicinity of Indiana- polis-Baltimore and Pongee Streets. The Clerk was instructed to advertise a public hearing September 19, 1963. City Engineer Sherick reported that specifications and plans have been completed for Improvement Resolution No.1060-1963, the construction of a sanitary sewer in the vicinity of Porterfield and Hillcrest Avenues. The Clerk was instructed to advertise a preliminary hearing September 19, 1963. The Board approved a request by Fire Chief Klotz to send Fireman Roland Walls, Rod Rohe and Harold Personnette to a fire school at Ohio State Uni- versity, September 9th thru 13th, 1963. The Board approved Fire Chief Klotz attending the Annual Fire Chief' s con- vention in Fort Wayne, Indiana, September 11-12-13, 1963. The Board approved a request by Police Chief Conyers to attend the Annual Juvenile Conference accompanied by Captain Woolfe and Officers Gibbs, at Kokomo, Indiana, September 6th & 7th, 1963. The Board approved a Transfer of Funds in the Police Department of $500.00, from Payroll to Other Garage & Motor. The Board referred a request for a Street Light on South "J`r .Street bet- ween the railroad and South 6th Street, submitted by George Hull, president of the Johnson Sheet Metal Company to the Richmond Power and Light for recommendation and an estimate.
