HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-22-1963 2 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY AUGUST 22, 1963 The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session with City Attorney Cecere presiding. All members were present. The following business was had to wit: The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set to hear persons interested in Improvement Resolution No. 1057-1963, the- con- struction of a sanitary sewer on South llth Street. No one appeared to remonstrate against the Resolution, City Controller Tiffany moved that the Resolution be confirmed. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for sealed bids to be opened in the Board of Works room September 12, 1963. The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set to hear persons interested in Assessment Roll No. 1053-1963-concrete alley between North. 12th & 13th Streets from North "D" to North '!En Streets. No one appeared to remonstrate against the Roll, City Controller Tiffany moved that the Roll be confirmed. The Board approved a request made by the Richmond Junior Chamber of Commerce to hold a "GET OUT THE VOTE" parade October 26, 1963-from 14th to 4th & Main Street at 3:00 PM, subject to Police Traffic'Department supervision. John W. Miller, representing Miller' s Dairy appeared before the Board and submitted traffic flow and construction plans for the proposed third "MILK HOUSE" at 300 West Main Street, the property is in the process of requesting rezoning for business. City Controller Tiffany moved that the Board approve the installation by the Richmond Power and Light of two ( 2) 250 watt mercury vapor-pendant type Street Lights in the 400 block of Northwest "L" Street. Two (2) petitions for Street Lights were sent to the Richmond Sower and Light for an estimate and recommendation. (1) In the 1300 & 1400 blocks of South 10th Street ( 2) In the vicinity of the Abington Pike and Southwest First Street. Mrs. James Garrett appeared before the Board, concerning property condemned by the Bureau of Buildings at 2401 Northwest 17th Street-( Hosapple Addition) . Mrs . Garrett was informed to have Mr. Garrett meet with the Board of Works, as: soon as possible. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Qa1Z4(0-140 President Attest: Clerk
