CARTERET
BE FT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret (`Borough ")
that Ordinance #71 -9 establishing various Salaries and wages for the Borough is hereby
amended and supplemented as follows:
Section 1 The following salary and wages and/or increases thereto shall
apply to Police Department Superior Officers in accordance with
the corresponding implementing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
A.
Effective January 1, 2013; 2% increase to base pay;

Effective January 1, 2014; 2% increase
to base pay;

All Police Officers who are promoted to the Rank of Sergeant on, or after,
1/1!2017 shall progress according to the Salary Step Scale below. A Step shall be
equivalent to one (1) calendar year in grade and employees shall progress on the
anniversary of their appointment, unless otherwise noted.

PACE 2
No Superior Officer who was hired after 1/112012 shall receive Longevity pay.
Any Superior Officer who is currently entitled to receive Longevity pay shall
receive the same upon promotion in accordance with the current Collective
Bargaining Agreement.
Section 2 All Borough management, officials and non -union administrative
personnel not otherwise subject to a collective bargaining
agreement or other salary step guide shall receive an ammai,
calendw year adjustment not to exceed 2.5 %.
Section 3 The following salary and wages shall apply to Police Department
Dispatchers.
A. For all Dispatchers currently receiving the top salary rate:
Effective January 1, 2015; 2% increase to base pay;
Effective January 1, 2016; 2% increase to base pay;
Effective January 1, 2017; 2% increase to base pay;
Effective January 1, 2018; 2% increase to base pay.
Effective January 1, 2019; 2% increase to base pay.
Ail current, full -time Dispatchers covered by the Collective Bargaining
Agreement implementing the above raises shall also receive a one -time payment
of $500 in 2016.
B. For all Dispatchers not currently receiving the ton salary rate:

Current Dispatchers shall receive their respective Step increase on January 1" of
each year. Dispatchers hired or promoted after 2010 shall receive their respective
Step increase on their anniversary date of hire.
C. Longevity
In addition to the above salaries, Dispatchers hired or promoted fulltime prior to
January 1, 2006:

Section 4 All ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with the provision of
this ordinance are hereby repealed limited to the extent of any such
inconsistency.

Section 5 - If any section, paragraph, sub - division, clause or provision of this
ordinance is adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall apply only to
the section, paragraph, sub - division, clause or provision so
adjudged and the remainder of this ordinance shall be deemed
valid and effective.
Section 6 This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication
according to applicable law.
