HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-03-1963 �� , 7 - BOARD 0 PUBL C WORKS AND SAFETY The Board of Public Works and Safety met on July 3, 1963 (wednesday - regular meeting day fell on July 4, a holiday) City Attorney Cecere was absent. The following business was had to wit : The Board approved a curb cut of 15ft. at 1019 Sheridan St. , requested by Irvin Wiles. The Board received a proposition from Weichman Realty to purchase a tract of land owned by the City, located on US Highway 27 east of the Richmond Power and Light , containing 3.34 acres more or less . The amount offered is #9,000.00, the appraised value. The Board took the proposition under advisement. A petition submitted by residents of the Hibberd School Area for a Street Light at South llth & parry St. , and one Street Light at South 12th and 11M" Street and adequate Street Lighting for the East Yard of Hibberd School was referred to the Richmond Power and Light for estimate and recommendation. The Board ordered the Richmond Water Works Corporation to install two (2) fire hydrants. One (1) southwest "E" St. - west of 19th St . One (1) " " " - at=2Oth Place The Board received a petition for a sanitary sewer on South 21st St. from South "L" St . to dead end of St . - (approx. 2 blocks long) . Referred to the Engineering Department. The Board approved a recommendation by traffic department officer Coonss to install St. signs at 3rd and Southwest "C" Street . The Board approved proof of publication that this date had been set to open sealed bids for the improvement of the South "G10 St . Bridge, the following bids were taken under advisement to study. Juli`u's Gerken DeBolt Concrete Co. $7,.653.72 $11,670.00 The Board granted permission for the N.L.R.B. to use the Council Chambers on July 10 and 11, 1963 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a meeting. Complaints of excessive weed growth on property awned by Geo. Scantland and Brantners, Inc. were referred to the Clerk to send notices.
