All members were present. The following business was had to wit! The Board of Works advised a group of 15 ladies residing in the area of Southwest 16th Street and the National Road, concerning the traffic 111 signal at that intersection, that the Board has recommended to Mr. Kline of the Indiana State Highway Department to leave the signal there, and also to install an automatic signal at Southwest 18th and National Road. The Board of Public Works and Safety set Thursday July 18, 1963, 11 A.M. for the opening of sealed bids for the construction of a storm sewer in the vicinity of Berry Field. The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare an Ordinance to transfer $200,000.00 from the Cul.mulative Storm Sewer Fund to Storm Sewer Construction Fund. - The Board of Works signed Section No. 1 - Richwood Subdivision Plat. The Board adopted Improvement Resolution No. 1054-1963, to construct a concrete alley on the first alley North of Main St . to North "B" St . between 16th and 17th Streets, and instructed the Clerk to set July 18, 1963 at 9:00 A M for a public hearing. The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare an Ordinance to transfer $10,000.00 in the Street Department Budget - S32 - Other Equipment to S13 - Rental of Equipment. James H. Ronald , Attorney for the Holiday Inn, appeared before theBoard concerning the specifications set forth 6or the construction of private swimming pools in4. item number 3. The Board amended item number 3 to read : "A crawl-proof fence of minimum height of 48 inches shall enclose the pool and adf acent w/[ kway and shall be provided with only one gate which shall be equipped with self-closing and self-latching device, except, when pool is in use said gate shall be locked". The Board approved the use of the Police Radio Station for the Y-Men ' ,; Club's annual Christmas Tree Sale this December as requested by Harry Hennigar, club tree sale chairman. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for sealed bid-s to be opened July 18 for a new 1963 Police Cruiser. For trade-in - 1 - 1960 Chev. ton pickup truck.. L4.nda Burris and Wilbur Linder, working on a Murray Seasongood Fellowship given through Earlham College, appeared befOre the Board and explained the survey they are making in Conjuction with the Richmond Board of Realtors ' recent survey of Richmond 's housing condition. They reported that they are making a list of all of the CitZts sub-standard dwellings . The Board of Public Works instructed the Commissioner of Buildings to make a check on all condemned buildings and to revoke all permits that have been issued with the provision that improvements be made in a certain length of time if nothing has, been done in the alloted time and to have the buildings removed with the co-operation of the fire department, where possible. The Clerk was instructed to prepare an Ordinance for the appropriation of $5,000.00 from the General Fund to Board of Works Demolition Fund.
