PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need tbr professional services for legal services in the
James Marinaro v. Patrolman James Connolly. et al; and
WHEREAS, legal services are a professional service exempt from the requirements
of competitive bidding pursuant to NJ.SA 40A:I 1-5 (1) (a); and
WHEREAs, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of Barry T Aibin, Esq,
at a maximum cost not to exce~ed $1,000.00 billable as per attached c;ntract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
IT lS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded wi'~hout competitive
bids in accordance with N.J. SA 40A: 1 l-5(1)(a) due to the specialized nature of
the services provided.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice of this action shall be published in the
Home News Tribune on July 20, 1999
Adopted this 15th day of July, 1999
and certified as a true copy of the original
on July 16. 1999.
