BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SATIETY
FEBRUARY 14, 1963.
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall
at 9:00 AM with City Attorney Cecere, President of the Board, presiding.
All members present, the following business was had to wit.:
The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set to
open bids for two (2) new 1963 automobiles for the use of the police.
department and one (1) new 1963 automobile for the use of the Dairy Inspector
the proofs were accepted and ordered filed.

City Controller Tiffany moved that the bids be taken underadvisement to
study the specs.
Ann Silliman, 726 South 16th Street appeared before the Board, concerning
condemned property owned by her at 527 North 19th Street. Attorney Delson
Cox on behalf of Mrs . Silliman asked the Board to issue a building permit
to Charles Estes who intends to purchase the property. The Board author-
ized the. Building Commissioner to issue a permit subject to Mr. Estes sub-
mitting plans to remodel the building that meets the requirements set forth
by the building Commissioner. Permit to expire June 15th 1963 if work is
started in 30 days, otherwise the permit will be withdrawn.
Attorney. George Sawyer appeared before the Board, representing Martha Craw-
ford, owner of condemned property at 922 North llth Street. The Board granted
Mrs. Crawford 30 days to submit plans as to what she intends to do tward
putting the building in a habitable condition.
The Board confirmed the action of the Commissioner of Buildings, concerning
condemnation proceedings filed against two ( 2) properties owned by Merle
Hudelson-4O5 North "D" Street and 1641 South 6th Street. Bids for the demol-
ition of 'the buildings will be opened February 28, 1963, in the Board of
Works Room. Mr. Hudelson did not appear for a hearing as set for this date-
(February 14, 1963) .
Mr. Ferris Nibarger did not appear for a hearing before the Board as requester
concerning condemnation proceedings filed against his property at 132 Colfax
Avenue. The Board instructed the Commissioner of Buildings to advertie for
bids for the demolition of the building at said address as confirmed by the
Board, sealed bids to be opened February 28, 1963.
City Controller Tiffany reported that the Cities Insurance Company is pay-
ing for the damage caused by a falling icicle, to the canopy at 520 Main
Street, which the fire department tried to remove.
The Board approve the installation of a Street Light on North "BT" Street
between North 14th and North 15th.This is to be done by the Richmond Power &
Light-estimate No.2387.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
