BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
JANUARY. 10, 1963
The Board of Public. Works and Safety met in regular session with City
Attorney Cecere presiding. All members were present . The following
business was had to wit:
IIICity Engineer Sherick reported that the State Board of Health has approved
the Plans and Specifications for the construction of a Sanitary Sewer
from Hayes-Arboretum Rodd'_ to the Sycamore Road prepared by Henry B. Steeg
& Associates , Ipc.
The Board ordered 7 new lights to be installed by the Richmond Power and
Light in the South 10th Street Park area from Park Place to South "C"
Street . .
A letter of complaint, concerning a dim street light at Southwest 14th
and Main_ Street was referred to the Richmond Power and Light .
The Board ordered an extension of water mains to the Sycamore Road and
the installation of fire hydrants as per locations recommended by the
Fore Department.
Fire Chief Klotz submitted his annual report, which stated that the de-
partment answered 833 fire alarms with a total estimated loss of $47,635.00,
Henry B. Steeg & Associates, Engineers, submitted preliminary cost es-
timates for surface water drainage of Berry Field and adjacent areas .
Cost for Plan "A" is in the sum of $109,000 .00. Cost for Plan "B" with
some additional drainage is in the sum of $133,300.00.
The Board instructed City Attorney Cecere to check on a smoke Ordinance
for the City .
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
