OCTOBER 11. 1962
The Board of Public Works and Safety plet in regular session with City
Attorney Cecere presiding. All members present. The following business
was had to wit:
The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set
to hear persons interested in Improvement Resolution No. 1051-1962,
"TO PAVE THE ALLEY BETWEEN SOUTH 5TH & 6TH STREET FROM SOUTH 6D" TO
"E" STREET", as no remonstrators appeared the Resolution was adopted
,by the Board. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for sealed bids
from contractors for the job.
The Board approved a request from the Richmond, Merchants Association
to sponsor a parade as a I.ickoff for -"RICHMOND DAYS" October 26, 1962,
at 7:30 PM.
Attorney George Tripp, representing Merle Hudelson in Condemnation pre-
ceeding against his property at 405 North "D" St. stated that the pro-
perty has been sold to Elmer J. Pugh and that Mr. Pugh, being a car-
penter, desired to improve the property. Building permits will be
issued providing Mr. Pugh submits plans for the improvement acceptable
to the Bureau of Buildings.
The Board approved a transfer of $600.00 in the Parking Meter Depart-
ment Budget, from Repair & Installations to Signs & Guides.
The Board approved a curb cut at 412 South 7th Street for a private drive
requested by Paul Wessel.
The Board approved a request b the Engineering Department to present
Council a Resolution to transfer the following funds :

H-10 - Telephone and Telegraph $25.00
H-13 - Photographing and Blueprinting 100.00
H-14 - Repair of Equipment 100.00 $225.00
Increase
H-11 - Travel Expense - - - - $225.00
Decrease
1619 - Stationary and Printing $50.00
Increase -
H-21 - General Supplies $50.00
The Board referred a petition for Street Lighting on the Water Falls
Road, from the bridge to the Williamsburg Pike, to the Richmond Power
and Light for study and recommendation.
