BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
AUGUST 16, 1962
The Board of Public Works and' Safety met in regular session in City
Hall with City Attorney Cecere presiding: All members present -
The following business was had to wit :
The Board approved a recommendation by Fire Chief Klotz to order
the Richmond Water Works Corporation to install a fire hydrant in a
central location on South "Q" Street between South 9th & 13th Sts .
Fire Chief Klotz• reported that the Department is checking a com-
plaint of gasoline in the vicinity of North 10th Street , between
North "H" & "I" Street s.
The.SBoard approved a request by Fire Chief Klotz to hold a parade
in conjuction with fire prevention week, October 6 , 1962 , also to
have a demonstration at Clear Creed Park, by members of the Fire
Department .
Routes of egress and ingress for buses using the new bus station at
13th and Main Street were discussed by the Board, the matter taken
under :advisement until the return from vacation of Captain Stout
Police Department Traffic Division.
The Board confirmed Inprovement Resolution No . 1050-1962 , "THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A SANITARY SEWER FROM SOUTH 5TH & "E" STREET TO
THE C & 0 RAILROAD" , The Clerk was instructed to advertise for
bidders for the project , to be opened September 6, 1962 .
The Board of Public Works and Safety members signed the agreement
with the Richmond.Water Works Corporation to lease the Reservoir for
30 years ® The Agreement will be submitted to Common Council for
signatures August 20, 1962.
The Board approved the Plans & Specifications submitted by Henry
B . Steeg & Associates , for the construction of Surface Water Drain-
age in the Southwest secgion of the City. Bids from contzactors
will be opened September 12, 1962 at 11 :00 AM in the Board of
Works Room in City Hall.
