HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-02-1962 23 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY AUGUST 2, 1962 The Board of Public Works and Safety met ire regular sessi6n inCity Hall with City Attorney Cecere presiding: All Members present- The following business w' s h-d to wit : The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set to open sealed bids for the construction of Sanitary Sewers in the Hos- apple Addition, the proof was accepted as in order. DeBolt Concrete Co. , Ind. bid $56,689.00-DeLucio & on bid $52 ,614.90. City Engineer Sherick moved to award thebbid to DeLLucio & Son the low bidder, seconded by City Controller Tiffany. Mrs . Charles Smith, 418 Northwest 5th Street, submitted a petition sign- ed by residents living in the vicinity of the Gulf Service Station at Norhtwest 5th & Peacock, with a complaint of excessive noise, junk cars and profanity, the Beard referred the matter to the Police and Fire Chiefs and the Commissioner of Buildings for investigation. The Board referred two (2) Petitions for street lights to the RPL for recommendation and estimate. One at South 14th & "Q" St. - One at the dead end of North 8th St . The Boa.td referred a petition for a paved alley- between South 5th & 6th Sts . running north and south ftpm South "D" St . to South "E11 St. , to the Cith Engineering Department to prepare an estimate and a list of property owners . IIINo action was taken on a petition by property owners residing on South 14th' St. for Sanitary Sewers , as sewers in that vicinity are included in the Sewer Project for South Richmond, The Board instructed the Engineering Department to make preliminary plans and an estimate for a Sanitary Sewer in the Porterfield Addition. The Beard rejected a proposal for a street light north of the Nationl Road on Southw •st 14th Street - RPL estimate No. 2232. A complaintant of a bad dip at the entrance to his drive-was , caused by the high crown in the §treet _at 734 National Road West was referred to Mr. Batson, District State Highway Superintendent.
