HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-21-1962 17 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY June 21, 1962 The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Attorney Cecere presiding: City Engineer Sherick was absent : The following business was had to wit : Mr J. C. Rearick, presented a proposal to sell the City a 75' by 185' lot at South "B" and the Henley Road for $3500 .00 The lot being a possible site for a new fire station. The Board took the proposal under advisement . City Attorney submitted a proposition to the Richmond Boy' s Club of $2000.00 for the sale of the City owned lot at South 8th & "N" street. The lot was appraised by real estate man appointed by Judge Hoslseher, Wayne Circuit Court , at $2000.00. The approved a recommendation by Captain Stout , of the Police Traffic Division, to restrict parking on the south side of south "E11 Street, 80 feet each side of south 12th street , for better visability at the intersection. The Board approved two (2) curb cuts, requested by Fred Powers, one at . 227 National Road West and one on southwest 3rd street for a private drive. The Board approved the adoption of preliminary resolution No. 1048-1962, the construction of a sanitary sewer in the Hosapple Addition, the Clerk was instructed to advertise for a public hearing to approve or reject the resolution. The Board approved Assessment Roll No 1046-1961, for the construction of a sanitary sewer on Indiana Avenue & Worley Court , and instructed the Clerk to set the date of July 12, 1962 and send notices to the owners for a public hearing to approve or disprove the amount assessed. The Board received a letter of complaint from Robert G. Moore, 436 N. W. "J" Street and Kenneth Sell, .446 N. W. "J" street, concerning the bad condition of the sidewalks, curbs and gutters that fronts their property, the matter referred to Street Commissioner Manley Lawrence.
