BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
JUNE 7, 1962
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City
Hall with City Attorney Cecere presiding: All members present : The
following business was had to wit :
Mr Eugene Skinner, head of the paint department of the Wayne Works
was contacted, concerning a complaint referred to the Board of Works
by Common Council. Mr Skinner promised to investigate the matter
of paint spray in the area.
Complaints of excessive growth of weeds and vegetation in the 700 block
of Northwest "IP Street was referred to the Clerk to send a copy of the
weed Ordinance to the owners of the property.
The Board approved the razing of a building at 1204-1206 North "F"
Street owned by Eva Webster, that was condemned by the Bureau of
Buildings, by the Stikeleather Wrecking Co. on their bid of $175.00
The Board authorized City Controller Tiffany to get a price from Louis
Pardo (painter) to mark the parking spaces on the City owned lots and
City Streets.
City Engineer Sherick presented plans for the revamping of the South
5th-6th & "A" Street parking lot . The Board instructed Sherick to
advertise for bids for the paving, construction of curbs, and the
relocation of parking meters.
Captain Spout was authorized to paint cross-walks between Main Street
and South "A" Street on 3rd & 4th Streets.
The Clerk was instructed to prepare an Ordinance to amend the traffic
Ordinance to make 17th & Main Street . (east) one way South to "B"
S_reet , to present to Common Council.
IThe Clerk was instructed to prepare an amendment to the parking meter
ordinance to change the time for enforcement , which will be:
9:00 A.M. to 5 :00 P.M. -Tuesday through Saturday
9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. - Monday
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
