HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-19-1961 Page 176 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY October 19, 1961 The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular 'session in City Hall with City Attorney Cecere presiding: City Engineer Sherick was absent - The Following business was had to wit: City Controller Tiffany moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by City Attorney Cecere. The Board approved the annual "Tiv-Rush" held in conjunction with Earlham's homecoming. The parade is from Earlham College to the Tivoli Theatre, starting at 6:10 P. M. Friday, October 20, 1961. The Board instructed the Richmond Power and Light to install the new "Walk- Wait" traffic signals at 5th-6th-7th and 10-41 Streets on Main.Street. A petition to construct a sanitary sewer abutting on South 13th Street, from the present sewer in South 13th Street to Short Street, thence east on Short Street to South 14th Street. Petition signed by 24 residents of South 13th Street. The Board.referred the petition to the City Engineering office for study. Captain Stout, traffic department,reported that an inspection of the taxi cabs in the city resulted in the finding of two cabs that needed repair. Captain Stout reported that he has contacted the Greyhound and Trailways bud companies and instructed them of the Ordinance concerning the use of North • and South "A" Streets. The Board iristtuoted William Addler of the Parking Meter Department to install meters in Park Place. The Board adjourned to officially dedicate the opening of the City Owned Public Parking Lot between South "A" and "B" Streets, from South 9th Street to Park Place. Andrew C.
