HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-28-1961 Page 173 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY September 28, 1961 The Board of Public Works and Safety met "in regular session in City Hall, with City Attorney Andrew Cecere presiding. City Engineer Sherick was absent. The following business was had to wit: City Controller Tiffany moved that the reading of the minutes of the pre- vious meeting be dispensed with, seconded by City Attorney Cecere. The Board approved the construction of a swimming pool by Ralph Wiwi for Roy Little at 1923 Straight Line Pike, subject to building code specifications. The Board approved a request for.permission to construct curbs and gutters by Samuel R. Burton, 1603 Peacock Road, on Peacock Road approximately 143 feet in front of his property. Mr. Burton is to assume the cost. The Board referred a request by Jerry Roberts, concerning the construction of an extension to South 19th & "J" Streets, to the City Engineering Department. The board ordered the Engineering Department to inspect a broken drain grate between South 7th & 8th on South "8" Street. The Board ordered the Street Department to prepare signs designating time limits for parking meters on the South 9th-lOth Street City owned parking lot. The Board took under advisement the suggestion of Captain Stout to erect signs ("CAR BY-PASS TURN NEXT CORNER") at 2nd & 17th & Main Street to divert car traffic on to North and South "A" Streets to relieve the con- gestion on Main Street. The Board approved a request by Robert Allen, Richmond Property Company, to relocate a storm drain sewer on the South side of West Main Street, West of Marsh's Supermarket. The Board ordered the Richmond Water Works Corporation to install four (4) , fire hydrants' in the Crestdale Sub-Division.
