BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY JULY 20, 1961 • The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall, with City Controller Tiffany presiding: City Attorney Cecere absent - • The following Business was had to wit: . City Controller Tiffany moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by City Engineer Sherick. The Clerk presented proof of publication that this date had been set to 'hear persons interested in Assessment Roll for Improvement Resolution No. 1038- 1960-2. The proofs-were accepted and ordered filed. Goerge Borton of theIII Commons Lumber Company appeared before the Board to inform the City Controller that Commons Lumber Co. was to be billed for- 17 lots assessed for paving the street abutting the Commons Sub-Division on West Main Street. As no remon- strators appeared against the Assessment Roll, City Controller Tiffany moved that the roll be confirmed,, seconded- by City Engineer Sherick. - Police Chief Conyers reported that the new walk-wait traffic signals, have been installed on Main Street. William Adler, pa/icing meter" department, reported a complaint of weeds on the City owned parking lots, the matter referred to the Street Department© City Controller Tiffany reported that the buildings have been removed from the South 9-10 street parking lot, and the ground was ready to grade. The City will advertise. for bid's to pave the lot. A complaint of trash and debris from leaky loads, from various companies in the City, being spilled on' the Test Road, on the route to the sewage- disposal plant, was referred to the Sanitary District. William Adler, of the parking meter department,- reported that the new type meters have been received by the City, and will replace the old style meters on Main Street. City Engineer Sherick moved that the Board concur- with the recommendation of III Street Commissioner Lawrence to award the contract for two (2) dump trucks to the Kurdys Chevrolet On their low bid of $6853.46, for the use of the Street Department . .
