BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MAY 25, 1961 The Board of Public Works and Safety, met in regular session in City Hall, with City Controller Wilson presiding - All members present - The following business was had • to wit: City Controller Wilson moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by City Engineer Sherick. The Clerk presented proofs of publication that this date had been set to open sealed bids for Improvement Resolution No. 1041-1961. The proofs were approved and ordered. filed. The bids are as follows: III Basil D. Shaw $10,575.00 Installation of Sanitary Robinson Bros. $11,375.50 Sewer ("K" Street) DeBolt Concrete $11,530.00 Delucio $11,117.00 City Controller Wilson moved to .take the bids under advisement, seconded by City Attorney Cecere. The Clerk presented proofs of publication that this date had been set to open sealed . bids for Improvement Resolution No. 1042-1961. The proofs were approved and ordered filed. The bids are as follows: Installation of Sanitary DeBolt Concrete $18600.00 Sewer Delucio $18860.00 (South 14th & 15th Street) City Attorney Cecere moved to take the bids under advisement, seconded by City Engineer Sherick. The Clerk presented proofs of publication that this date had been set to open bids for Street Materials, Gasoline, Fuel Oil, Coal and Vitrified and Concrete Pipe for the various departments of the City, the proofs were approved and ordered filed. Bids for Street Materials were received from Magaws, Inc. , DeBolt Concrete, and American Aggregates, all taken under advisement. Bids for pipe were received from DeBolt Concrete, A.K. Thompson and Armco. Bids were taken under advisement. A petition for Street Lights between South "A" & "B" and "B" & "C" on South 4th Street was referred to the Richmond Power and Light, for study and recommendation. • Councilman Smithmeyer appeared before the Board and reported complaints of large holes in the Street between South 13th & 14th on South "P" Street, and the bad condition of the Street and gutters on South- "D" between 13th & 14th Streets, the matter referred to City Engineer Sherick for study and recommendation. The Board instructed Captain Stout, Traffic. Department, to have the "Walk-Wait" signals disconnected that are not functioning properly. The Board ordered the 10 Hr. meters removed on the North 10th Street Parking Lot, and replaced with 4::"& 2 hour meters. (20 - 4hr & 60 - 2hr) III The Board referred a complaint of floor damage on the iron bridge on Bridge Avenue to City Engineer Sherick, for recommendation.
