Chair Telman read along the Recording and Taping Notification . Chair Telman welcomed Casey Mecca and Marie Enochty to the Committee . Agenda Changes — None Citizens Speak — None PRIORITY BUSINESS Administrators ' Reports : Principal ' s Report(s) : There were no additions to the Written Reports . Principal Gauley thanked the families and staff for their assistance as the COVID rates rise in the area, and mentioned a reminder to be vigilant until the vaccine is available to all . Superintendent' s Report Superintendent Conrad reported to the Committee on the following : Superintendent Conrad welcomed the new members to the Committee , he was able to visit all schools over the last few days and stated his gratitude to all school nurses who are working over weekends and evenings on virus related issues ; Negotiations are moving along and progress is being made with the hope of a settlement in the next few weeks ; the high school building project pace is picking up with a lot of information begin rolled out to the community shortly. FY22 & Five Year Capital Plan Giovanna Venditti stated an amount was changed on the Capital Plan regarding the public address system: After getting quotes the amount was changed from $ 15 , 000 to $24 ,000 . Ms Venditti requested a vote to approve the $9,000 increase . After discussion it was moved by Marie Enochty seconded by Katie Jacobus and voted unanimously via roll call vote to approve the increase . FY21 Budaet Expenditure Reports Giovanna Venditti highlighted all changes over $ 1 , 000 from the previous month reporting . FY22 Budget Presentation Superintendent Conrad reminded the Committee that this is a unique school year with changes to start dates and the calendar . It was the Superintendent' s decision to push off the budget dates up to 2 months to give the Principal ' s time to deal with issues surrounding the virus . Consequently, the FY22 Budgets were just completed and sent to the Committee electronically. He would like the Committee to review the budgets and move forward with discussion on them to the next meeting. One key piece while reviewing the budgets for FY22 , is Negotiations are not completed for FY21 or FY22, therefore all salary lines are level funded until Negotiations have been completed . Brewster School Committee Minutes January 21, 2021 [ 1 ] Update/Review of Feasibility Study: Chair Telman requested this item agenda to update new members on the School Feasibility Study. The Town of Brewster voted to allow the schools to use funds for a School Consolidation Feasibility Study. Discussion was held on the timeframe available for the study . All materials were included in the Committee packet for review. Assistant Town Manager Donna Kalinick will be on the February 2021 Agenda to speak to this item . Approve Gifts/Grants : It was moved by Katie Jacobus Seconded by Marie Enochty and voted unanimously via roll call vote to accent the $450 Grant from Cape Cod Five . Fill Vacancies/Sub Committees : It was moved by Judi Lech seconded by Marie Enochty and voted unanimously to appoint Katie Jacobus as vice-chair of the Committee . The following appointments were made : Behavioral Health Task Force — Katie Jacobus PTA — Casey Mecca School Council Liaison Stony Brook — Casey Mecca School Council Liaison Eddy — Marie Enochty Warrant Authorizer — all members are sent warrants to sign Union # 54 Voting Member — Katie Jacobus, Casey Mecca (alternate), Marie Enochty (alternate) Substance Abuse Task Force has been renamed Behavioral Health Task Force Policy — Judy Lech Central Office Budget — Katie Jacobus Transportation — Dave Telman Cape Cod Collaborative — Katie Jacobus Building Needs — Katie Jacobus Reports and Information Cape Cod Collaborative —Katie Jacobus reported on the last meeting; Annual Legislative Breakfast will be vritually held on Friday, February 12 , 2021 . The meeting will be open to Town Officials and School Committee Members ; there are still challenges regarding obtaining and retaining drivers . PTO — Casey Mecca reported on upcoming fundraisers, funds being raised through fundraisers are being used for Teachers/Staff appreciation gifts . School Council — Joanna Hughes reported she is looking forward to having Marie join next week. Stony Brook will be meeting next week. Policy Subcommittee — Judi Lech reported there has not been a meeting, the Committee is working on a RU for Staff. Behavioral Health Task Force — no report Building and Needs Assessment — no report Strategic Plan — no report Preschool Enrollment — Report was included in the Committee pack Central Office Subcommittee — no report Marie Enochty requested the Chair invited Mary Buchanan, Director of Student Services , and Eileen Belastock, Director of Technology to an upcoming meeting. Approval of Minutes It was moved by Katie Jacobus ... seconded by Judi Lech and voted 3 - 0 (with two abstaining) to approve the minutes of the December 17 2020 meeting . Brewster School Committee Minutes January 21 , 2021 [ 2l Given this new resignation there are now two vacant seats on the Committee . Town Administrator Peter j Lombardi suggested moving the joint meeting between the BSC and the Brewster Select Board to January 4 , 2021 to give members of the community ample time to submit a letter of interest to fill those vacancies .
