BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
RICHMOND, INDIANA
January 26, 1961
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall
at 9:00 AM, City Attorney Cecere presiding, City Engineer Sherick present,
City Controller Wilson was absent. The following business was had to-wit:
City Attorney Cecere moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous
meeting be dispensed with, seconded by City Engineer Sherick.
The Clerk was instructed to advise the Richmond Water Corporation to install
two fire hydrants, between Short and "T" streets, one on 14th and one on 15th.
City Engineer Sherick was instructed to prepare a map of the area south of
"L" street, between 16th and 23rd streets, for Fire Chief Klotz to study
in making recommendations for fire, hydrants in this area to the Board of
Works.
A recommendation of street lights on the Elks Country Club Road from the
Richmond Power and Light, was referred to the City Engineer for study and
recommendation, as to the spacing and the number of street lights installed.
Tony Laughlin, owner of the Medical Arts Pharmacy, asked the Board to consider
a different type of structure for a drive-in Pharmacy that was rejected by
the Board at their meeting January 19, 1961, the Board took the request
under advisement.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
