2017 SNOW PLOWING & REMOVAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the 2017 Snow
Plowing & Removal Services within the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received two (2) bid proposals for the 2017 Snow
Plowing & Removal Services as follows:

WHEREAS, S. Brothers Inc. has submitted the lowest bid for said contract as evidenced by the
response on file with the Borough Purchasing Department and with the Borough Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended
the award of a contract to S. Brothers Inc. in an amount not to exceed $75,000.00; and the
Borough reserves the option to extend the contract for an additional twelve (12) month period;
and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said
purpose.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret as
follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract
with S. Brothers Inc. of South River, N.J. for snow plowing and removal services as
described above for the cost no to exceed $75,000.00 in accordance in all respects with
the request for proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough Purchasing
Department and Borough Engineer.
3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal approval from the New
Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage and Hour Compliance.
