BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA.
July 28, 1960
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in The City
Hall with City Engineer Deuker presiding. City Controller Wilson and
City Attorney Cecere were absent. The flowing business was had to-wit:
Ralph Wiwi, local contractor appeared before the Board, presenting
pictures; and plans of the Internation Swimming pool, that he requests
to build at 113 South"West "H" Street, The Board. referred the plans
to the City Engineer for study.
Fire Chief Klotz, presentddcanietter from the Indiana State Board of
Health, approving the plans for the improvement of the Gilmer Trailer
Camp, as ordered by the Board of Works.
Fire Chief Klotz, reported that the fire department has supervised:-the
demolition of 14 barns and 6 houses this year.
- Chief Klotz, said that his department has made 3000 fire hazard insections
and had been turned down 240 times.
The Board of Works received'.a request for a fire hydrant iatpthe Jackson-
Perkins of Indiana, Inc. on the Williamsburg Pike, the matter was referred
to the City Engineer for study.
The Board approved an application for a permit to widen a private drive,
requested by Joseph Harvey, 1725 Chester Blvd.
The Board of Public Works and Safety adopted an improvement resolution:
(1038-1960 to improve the extenS on of. main street to the Salisbury,
the clerk set the date of August 18th. for a public hearing.
Dick Butler, representing the Rod Rockers Club, appeared before the Board,
' II/ requesting his club be given permission to hang a sign "SAFETY IS NO ACCIDENT"
. below the present " RICHMOND CITY LIMIT" signs. The matter taken under
advisement.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
