BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF
RICHMOND,INDIANA.
July 21, 1960 '
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall
with Controller Wilson presiding:, all members present, the following
business was had to-wit:
City Engineer Deuker, moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous 111
meeting be dispensed with. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere.
The Board approved a resolution concerning trash cans on City Property,
as follows:
" It has come to the, attention of the Board of Public Works and Safety
that a large number of citzens, of the community are placing and leaving
treash containers on the areaway between the street and the sidewalks. The
Board of Public Works and Safety has authorized all personnel of the City,
especially the Police Department to contract offenders and inform them to
remove the containers immediately. It is the policy of the Board that no
containers shall be permitted in this area for a period of longer than 24 hours
and only on the day of normal collection."
City Controller Wilson, reported that the tax board had approved the
appropriation of $500.00 for special judges.
• The Board approved a curb cut of 12 Ft. requested by Ray Zeleski at the
parking lot on South 7th street, Also, the Board ordered one parking meter •
removed from that area.
A complaint was referred to the Police Depatment against the American •
Laufidry between 10th & 11th streets on South "E" street that they are
leaving trucks parked on the sidewalks, in front of the laundry. •
The Board approved a curb cut at 430 Park Terrace Addition Drive, for a
private driveway. (10 ft )
The Board approved -a curb cut of 16 ft, for a private drive.-,. requested
by Glenn Muckridge at the Reeveston Place Addition.

Building Commissioner Sligar, submitted a letter concerning property at
531 North 17th street owned by Ross Hudelson, citing buildings on said
property that are condemned and- so posted.
The Clerk was instructed to contact the owners of a parking lot on South
8th on the West side of the street near "A" street, to repair the sidewalk
that is being used as a driveway into the parking lot.
Russell Crabb appeared before the Board and reported two trees at 321 College
Ave. that needed to be removed. •
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
