HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-25-1959 Page 47 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY November 25 , 1959 The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Controller Wilson presiding, with all members present. Minutes dispensed with. the following business was had To-Wit; The Clerk presented proofs of publication showing this date had been set to receive bids for one 19b0 automobile for use by the Commissioner _ of Buildings.The proofs were accepted and ordered filed. The following bids were received: Raper, Plymouth ,Inc. $1796.S4 (Plymouth) Dea Meadows Ford Sales 41529.00 (Falcon ) E.W. Parrish & Sons 1596.00 (Rambler) Kurdys Chevrolet 41663.90 (Chevrolet ) Kurdys Chevrolet .4609.03 (Corvair ) City Controller INilson moved the bids be taken under adv.isement. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. City Attorney Cecere reported that he was working on amendments to the taxi Ordinance. The Board approved the following Stop Sign Installations as recommended by the Traffic Department: North 2nd and "A" Street , making 2nd the stop street. South 27th and "E" Street , Making 27th the stop street. Harris Street and N.W. "N" Street , making Harris the stop street. The Clerk presented proofs of publication showing this date had been set to hear persons interested in , or affected by , Improvement Resolution No. 1034-1959. (Sanitary Sewer in vicinity of N.W. 5th&"L" ) The proofs were accepted and ordered filed. The City Engineer announced there were 61 resident property owners and that 32 had petitioned for the the Improvement . No remonstrators were present or heard from. City Attorney Cecere moved the Resolution be confirmed. Seconded by City controller Wilson.Wilson. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received on December 17, 1959. ,, The Street Commissioner reported his Department was picking up dead leaves as quickly as possible. The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to the State Highway Department asking why the report promised for October 1, 1959, had not been received.
