ARTICLE I
Sec. 6-28: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF
SKATEBOARDS
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY,
ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: SKATEBOARDS: Are hereby defined for the purposes
of this Ordinance as follows: A device with a combination of
wheels connected by a platform designed for standing and '
which is propelled by human power. It includes devices
containing a handlebar and sometimes referred to as scooters.
Section 2: Prohibited Uses. No skateboards shall be used,
operated or propelled upon any street, sidewalk or public way
in any areas of the Village zoned B-1, B-2, B-3 or B-4, or
upon any private property without the permission of the
property owner.
Section 3: Restricted Uses. All persons using or riding
upon skateboards or similar devices upon any sidewalks in the
Village in areas where such devices are not prohibited shall
exercise due care at all times and shall yield the right of
way to any pedestrians using such sidewalks at all times.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
after its passage, approval and publication according to law
and shall be known as ordinance No. 1279
