A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE USE OF BATEMAN HALL AUDITORIUM AND ROOM #2, WAIVING THE
RENTAL FEES IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,640.00 AND PROVIDING STAFF, AND
LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR THE 2014 AFRICAN- AMERICAN UNITY BLUES
FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, a request was made by the Lynwood Senior Center Bingo Club and
the Greater Lynwood Chamber of Commerce to host the Annual • African- American Unity
Blues Festival; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the event is for the Lynwood community to celebrate
the rich national, cultural and artistic contributions of the African- American community;
and
WHEREAS, the event will take on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m. (3 :00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. total time)
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the use of City facilities, staff and
logistical support and the waiver of rental fees.
Section 2. The City Council further finds that this request serves the important
public purpose of providing a civic and community oriented program that can be enjoyed
by Lynwood residents and businesses.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of February, 2014.
