The Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session on Wednesday,
January 2, 1974 at 7:40 P.M.
Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair

Wayne Neddermeyer, Robert Franklin, Arthur Theis and
Donald Des Lauriers present.
The minutes of the meeting of December 4, 1973 read. Moved by Robert Franklin
to approve the minutes as read.

The minutes of the meeting of the Planning Commission of December 17th read.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Feser and their attorney, Mr. Miller appeared with regard
to the change of the Park boundaries. Moved by Robert Franklin to have a
meeting on Thursday, January loth at 7:30 at the Village Hall for a further
determination in this matter

J. R. Reader presented a letter fo some work he had done in Ville Road.
This is to be checked out with the State and Mr. Reader to come to February
meeting.
Holasak Trailer Court. Moved by Robert Franklin that we authorize the
Village Attorney to appeal the Holasak lima case to the Minnesota
Supreme Court and authorize the Village Clerk to transfer $1000.00:to the trust
firm of Schieffer, Hadley, Bakke and Jensen.

Moved by Robert Franklin to pass Resolution No.74-1, Concerning operations of
the Police Department. BE IT RESOLVED that the Resolution for the Operation
of the Medina Police Department, adopted January 17, 1961, is amended by
adding a section, to read: Section V. Department Organization. The Vi1_-age
Council may appoint a ful ime police officer to be Chief of Police, and
he shall serve as the adm nistrative head of the Police Department. If a
fulltime officer is so appointed, he shall report tol the Village Council
thrpugh a Commissioner of Public Safety, who shall be appointed annually
by the Council from among its members to exercise policy functions for the
Department.

Moved by Robert Franklin to pass Res. 74-2, A Resolution Concerning burning
in the Village of Medina. BE IT RESOLVED that, in accordance with Resolution
No.72-6, the Medina Village Couccil determines that as of this date the entire
Village qu„lifies under Section 545:10 (c) of the Village Code as an area of
fewer that 100 dwelling units per square mile, thus permitting the continuance
of burning of refuse from dwelling units throughout the village.
