FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 1958 The Board of Public Works & Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Controller Wilson presiding. All members present. The minutes of the previous meeting dispensed with. The following business was had, to-wit; Fire Chief Williams reported he has some answers to his inquiry to other cities regarding their charges fo± fire runs made outside of corporation limits . He said when his report was complete, he would submit it in writ- ing for consideration of the Board. The Mayor said representatives from the Wayne County museum wourld be in to-day to make a final decision regarding the old furniture from the Council . Chambers. Mr. Klute and Lt.Walter Stout (Klu.te from Peoples Home & Savings) appeared and requested help in providing parking for customers at the Peoples Home & Savings Co. , on North 8th St. , Lt.Stout recommended the removal of the 15 minute parking meters at the side of the Second National Bank and inst- allation of one hour meters in their place, and the 15 minute meters to be installed as follows; two on, the west side of North 8th in front of the Brown Motor Car Co. , and two on the east side of North 8th, immediately north of the first glley north of Main St.Oity Controller Wilson so moved. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. Lt. Stout reported he had made a survey of the parking on College Avenue and that the majority of residents on the west side of College Ave. said they would not object to a no parking regulation for that side of the street. Lt. Stout recommended that parking on the west side of College Avenue from National Road to SW "E" street be prohibited.. City Controller Wilson so moved. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. Dog Warden Daniels was advised by the Board that they would like to be in- formed when he was not going to be in Richmond. The Dog Warden told the Board he was on vacation the past week and had advised the Police Dept. he would be gone. A radio for the Dog Warden was discussed, Police Chief Mitrione told the Board that his Dept. had one that had been taken out of an old crusier. This was ordered installed in the truck of the Warden.
