FRIDAY, JANUARY lO, 1958 The Board of Public Works & Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Controller Wilson presiding. All members present. The minutes of the previous meeting dispensed with. The following business was had, to-wit; City Engineer Deuker moved to take under advisement a request for a fence along the high bank running along NW 1st Street from Kinsey to Randolph. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. Ralph Snavely, Weights & Measures Inspector, informed the Board that he was going to attend a school in Indianapolis on January 16th and 17th, 1958. Councilman Smithmeyer reported he had several calls about stray dogs and asked why the Dog Warden had not been picking more dogs up. The Clerk was instructed to have the Dog Warden report to the Board of Works at the next meeting. City Engineer Deuker reported he had been in conference with officials of the State Highway Dept. and they had advised him that work to replace the traffic lights at North 5th and "A" Street would begin by January 15, 1958. City •g'ngineer Deuker moved to adopt Declaratory Resolution 2-1958 ( Sanitary sewer between S. 2nd and 3rd from Soo"C" to "D") and to- set a date for a public hearing. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. The Board unaminously approved a curb cut at 1026 North "I" Street. Fire Chief Williams was instructed by the Board to conduct a study of other second class cities and to get procedures,- facts and figures oh how charges are made for fire runs outside of the corporate limits of thses cities, and to report back to the Board as soon as possible. Street Commissioner Darr was instructed by the Board to replace a section of the sidewalk on East Main St. just east of the entrance to Glen Miller park. The Clerk was instructed toadvise the persons interested in the Old furniture taken from the Council Chambers that unless said furniture was not removed by Jan.l7th the Board would dispose of it.
