NOVEMBERL=e,' 1957 • The Board of Public Works & Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Con- troller Wilson presiding. All members present. The minutes of the previous meeting dispensed with. The following business was had, to-wit; • Proof of publication was' presented on Assessment Roll 1012-1956 for hearing today. (sanitary sewer in east side of North 15th from "G" St, north to the Whitewater River) It was moved that this roll be confirmed by City Engineer Deuker. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. A petition for curbs, gutters and sidewalk was presented on South 7th Street on both sides of street from South "0" to South "Q". Street'. The Clerk was instructed to set a date for hearing. Curb cuts at 12 South 17th Street for residential driveway was approved by City En- gineer Deuker, Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. A letter from Mrs. Norman Harris was read for removal of meters on South 5th, Main to "A" for use of the Court House employees. It was recommended that a letter from the Clerk be sent to above denying request as the Board feels the meters are serving their . purpose. City Attorney Cecere so moved. Seconded by City r'ngineer Deuker. Mr. Martin Snyder, representative of the Y.M.C.A. request two booths on Main Street to selIttickets Saturday, Nov. 9, Monday, Nov. 11 & Sat. Nov. 16th and Mon. Nov. 18th for a pancake supper, November 18th. The booths to be located at 7th & Main & 8th & Main Streets. This request was denied by the Board. Severalsesidents from Southwest 1st Street were present in regards to the parking pro- blem in that district. Further study to be made in regard to this matter. On recommendation of Fire Chief Williams, the pay for Probationary Fireman will be $5.00 per month less than regular fireman effective Nov,l9th,1957. City Controller Wilson approved. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. The Board recommended to Council that a study and revision of the Peddlers Permits for better control of magazine salesmen and other itenerant salesmen be made.
