OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC
WORKS &• SAFETY, RICHMOND,INDIANA
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1957
The Board of Public Works & Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Controller
Wilson presiding. All members present. Minutes dispensed with. The following business was
had, to-wit;
Proofs of publication were presented that this date was set for hearings on Assessment Rolls
1006-1956 and 1009-1956. City Engineer Deuker moved they be confirmed and approved. Seconded
by City Controller Wilson.
n estimate from the MEL & PP for a traffic light at North 5th & "D" Street was $1,323.92.
Work will °proceed immediately for installing said light.
Kramer Brothers of Eaton, Ohio was awarded the bid for installing a 12" sanitary sewer
crossing National Road at 34th St., subject to State approval on construction.

Mr. Guy Campbell and Mr. Williams came before the board and asked for a 2" water line at
510 -North "A" St., Said water line was granted subject to approval of the Water Works and
the Engineering Department.

Army Recruiter, Sgt. Gower, requested to have mobil display unit on Main St. at the Tivoli
Theater for 2 days, October 7th and 8th. City Controller so moved. Sec nded by City En-
gineer Deuker.
•Mr. Mike Hinshaw of the Richmond Senior High School asked permission to have a parade and
pep session from the park to the High School, October 10th at 6:30 PM for Home Coming Game
and Bon Fire. City Engineer Deuker approved. Seconded by City Controller Wilson.
A letter from Robert C.Young, Earlham College was presented before the board, requesting to
hold their Annual Home Coming Parade; October 25, 1957 at 6:30 PM from the entrance of the
campus to the Tivoli Theater. Approved by City Controller Wilson. Seconded by City Engineer
Deuker.
IIIA request from Holy Family Church to errect signs at National Road at 8th St and West 5th
and Main Street was taken under advisement.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
