The Board of Public Works & Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Con_
Troller Wilson presiding. Allmembers present. The following business was had,to-*wit;
Minutes dispensed with.
City Engineer Deuker moved the Light plant estimate of $380.00 for a street light at
South 18th and "H" Street be approved and the light ordered in. Seconded by City- At-
torney Cecere.
City Engineer Deuker moved the Light Plant estimate of $212.00 for a street light at
South 17th and "G" Street be approved and the light ordered in. Seconded by City At-
torney Cecere. '
The bid by Dea Meadows Ford Sales for a 3/4 ton pick up truck for the Street Depart-
ment was rejected. The Clerk was instructed to,.readvertise for bids and to trade in
�the 1951 Plymouth now used by the 'ngineering kept.
The Clerk read petition for the pavement of SW 9th Street from West Main Street to
Southwest "A" and for the consttuction of a sidewalk on the east side of said street.
This petition signed by property owners abutting SW 9th Street. City Attorney Cecere
moved this be referred to the Engineering ':)ept. for study and recommendation. Seconded
by City Controller Wilson.
City Engineer Deuker moved the Replat of the Morningside First Subdivision be approved.
Seconded by City Attorney Cecere.
City Attorney Cecere moved the engineering kepartment prepare plans,specifications, and
estimates for extending the present trunk sewer north from present sewer in South 34th St.
for approximately 150' to the north side of National Road East. Seconded by pity Contra
toiler Wilson.
The Board took under advisement a request for fire protection in the ulen Hills Second
Subdivision.
Police Chief Mitrione presented the Board with specifications for a new crusier.ambu-
lance for use by the Police Department. One 1952 Ford Station Wagon to be traded in on

above. City Attorney moved that the Clerk secure estimates on the trade in_:ard adver-
tise for bids on the new station wagon. Seconded by City Controller Wilson.

Bill Adler reported he had received complaints of the lighting in the North loth St.
parking lot and recommended a different type of light be installed. City Attorney
Cecere moved that the Clerk contact the Light Plant for plans for a better lighting
system. Seconded by City -Engineer Deuker.
City Attorney Cecere moved the signs at the North 10th Street parking lot be repainted
and that "STOP" be painted in the alley north of the parking lot at the intersection of
North "A" Street.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. ,
