FRIDAY,AUGUST 9, 1957 The Board of Public Works & Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Attorney Cecere presiding. City Controller Wilson absent. The following business was had,to©wi; Minutes dispensed with. ' The Clerk presented proofs of publication that this date had been set to receive bids on a 3/4 ton truck for'the Street Department. The proofs were ordered filed. One bid was received, that from Dea Meadows Ford Sales for $1200.00 net. City Engineer Deuker moved the bid be taken under advidement. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. A representative of the Standard Oil Company presented the Board with'a proposal to widen South "G" St, at S.5th St., 'by approximately 301 and to make a drive from the service station at South 5th & "G" onto "G" Street. City Attorney Cecere moved to refer this to the Engineering Dept. and Traffic Dept. for study and recommendation. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. The Board received a request from the Richmond Aviation Club to place a banner across Main Street advertising a Model Air meet to be held at the Municipal Airport on August 18,1957. This request refused to conform with the policy of the Board of not author- izing any banners across streets. City Attorney Cecere moved that the Motor Bus Contract be amended to eliminate the fee paid to the City annually and that the Board recommend the amendment to the ° Council, by Ordinance. Also that an agreement be signed this day ,with the Richmond City Lines,Inc. , eliminating said fee. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. The Board approved a curb cut at 402 North 19th Street.
