HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-19-1957 • OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY, RICHMOND,INDIANA FRIDAY, JULY,19, 1957 , The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Controller Wilson presiding. All members present. The following business was had, to-wit; Minutes dispensed with. Rev. W.F.Badgett, First Baptist Church, requested use 'of a loud speaker at the corner stone laying at his church on Sunday, July 21,1957.. City Attorney Cecere moved this be allowed. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. 111 Fire Chief,Williams recommended water mains be ,extended for approximately 8701 on White- water Blvd. Southwest from North 10th Street and a fire hydrant be placed at the end of the line, on the north side of the Blvd. City Attorney Cecere so moved. Seconded by City Enngineer Deuker. Bill Adler reported that the new four hour meters had been installed on the streets around the Court house and ,that signs were being ordered to inform the public that the meters would allow two hour parking for 50 and four hour parking for 10¢. The following recommendations of Police Chief Mitrione and Sgt. Walter Stout were un- aminously approved by the bard: a. Installation of 4 way stopsigns and painting of cross walks at North 20th and "C" St. b. Installation of 3 way stop signs and painting of cross walks at North 19th & "C" St. c. Paint of yellow curbs on NE and SE corner of North 7th and "B" St. d. Re.painting of yellow curbs on the NE and SE corners of North 9th & "B" St. e. Removal of stop signs at North 15th and "C" St., making 15th thru street. f. Removal of stop signs at North 16th and "C" St.,making 16th thru street. The Board approved a curb cut at 1120 E.Main ,Street. City Attorney Cecere moved and City Engineer Deuker seconded to take under advisement a.:, request from the Pennsylvania Railroad to take down the outgoing crossing gates at the railroad crossing at North 8th and "E" St. The City Engineer was asked to contact the Street Department in regard to completing the storm sewer in the vincinity of South 3rd Street between South "P" and "Q" ,St. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. dm.E.Wilson, 'President Attest; A
