The Board of Public Works &.Safety met in regular session in City Hall with City Controller Wilson presiding. All members present. The following business was had, to-wit; % Minutes dispensed with. • The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for a 3/4 ton pick up truck for -use by the Street Commissioner. Mrs. Dunn, 1401 S. 10th Street, complained to tie Board that water from a house on III South llth St was running into her house. This was referred to Andrew Hutton, Sanitary Inspector. Permission was given the Marine Corps to use a sign at the State Theatre for one week. Requests for fire protection was received from Redes Alignment,Service, NW 5th & Williamsburg Pike, and Charlies Bait Shop on Whitewater Blvd. hese requests referred tothe Fire Chief for study and recommendation. Proofs of publication were presented that this date had been set to hear remonstrances on the proposed parking lot on North 5th Street. The proofs were ordered files. When . no remonstrances were received, City Engineer Deuker moved to confirm Declaratory . Resolution 9-1957. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere. Fire .Chief Williams recommnded the promotion of Fred Klotz from Captain to Insjructor. City Controller Wilson so moved. ‘Seconded by City Attorney ®ecere. Police Chief Mitrione recommended yellow curbs be painted at the SW corner of West 15th and Main St. City Attorney Cecere so moved. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. .The Board approved, upon recommendation of the Police Chief, that a stop sign be placed on South 19th St south of "A" Street, to stop traffic coming onto °'A" from the church parking lot. The Board granted unaminous approval for the parking of the mobile chest X ray unit on South 8th .St, at the Knollenberg Annex from July 15th 1957 thru July 26, 1957. City Engineer Deuker moved the driveway the approach to the South "G" Street bridge be closed. Seconded by City Controller Wilson. A group of citizens appeared before the Board protesting the proposed routing of thru traffic east on South "A" to S. 18th and north to Main 'at.
