A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE APPROPRIATION FOR STREET MAINTENANCE DIVISION AND BUILDING
MAINTENANCE DIVISION TO COVER UNANTICIPATED COSTS FOR FY 2013 -14
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the FY 2013 -14 City Budget on June 4,
2013;
WHEREAS, the Street Maintenance Division's budget is approved at $1,356,650
and the Building Maintenance Division's budget is approved at $174,843; and
WHEREAS, the approved budgets for both the Street Maintenance Division and
Building Maintenance Division were not sufficient to cover the increased cost of
operations since less than $150,000 was set aside for the purchase of goods and
service for each of the divisions; and
WHEREAS, to continue to meet the demands for services for the remaining 4
months of FY 2013 -14 and avoid deficit spending an appropriation is needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the appropriation of $141,603 from
the unappropriated Gas Tax Fund to Street Maintenance Division.
Section 2. That the City Council authorize the appropriation of $43,197 from
unappropriated Contingency Fund.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
