HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-11-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AUGUST 11,2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER Ms. Palmer called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. President Robinson was absent. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Young, Ordinance Violations Specialist; T.L. Bosell, Street Commissioner; Derek Hill, Director of Code Enforcement; Cedric James, Code Enforcement; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of August 4, 2022, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve Claims for Payment for July 29, 2022 for Forty Seven Thousand Four dollars and fifty-four cents ($47, 004.54), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to approve Claims for Payment for August 5, 2022 for Four Hundred Thirty Thousand Nine Hundred Three dollars and sixty-five cents ($430,903.65), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to approve Claims for Payment for August 12, 2022 for Two Hundred Eight Thousand Three Hundred Nine dollars and fifteen cents ($208,309.15), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve Payroll Claims for Payment for July 29, 2022 for Eight Hundred Eleven Thousand Two Hundred One dollars and fifty-eight cents($811,201.58), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • Board of Works Minutes August 11,2022 Mr. Evans moved to approve Payroll Claims for Payment for August 12, 2022 for Nine Hundred Ten Thousand Three Hundred Sixty One dollars and twenty-five cents ($910,361.25), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for Pension for July 29, 2022 for Two Hundred Sixty Five Thousand Six Hundred Seventy Six dollars and eighty-seven cents ($265,676.87), supported Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS BID OPENINGS • SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT REBID One bid was received from Brackney,Inc. Total base bid - $498,828.00—sidewalk with 4 inch thickness Alternate bid(additional) - $22,000.00—sidewalk with 6 inch thickness Bid taken under advisement BID AWARDS • PURCHASE OF BOBCAT UW56 TOOLKAT—STREET DEPARTMENT Bobcat of Anderson was the only responsive and most responsible bid for the Toolkat. Not to exceed$66,097.64 Mr. Evans moved to award the bid to Bobcat of Anderson, supported Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 129-2022—YOU CALL WE HAUL For the clean-up of properties located at: 811 North 19th Street 824 North 19th Street 1217 Crosshall Street Board of Works Minutes August 11,2022 Not to exceed $4250.00 Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • CHANGE ORDERS ADDENDUMS RESOLUTIONS • RESOLUTION 8-2022 For the purchase of real estate from the County for the Midwest Industrial Park expansion. Property is located at 1432 Round Barn Road. City Counsel advised that property would be transferred from EDC to City, rather than from County to City. This Resolution is not needed. PETITIONS • CURB CUT 101 Garwood Road Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms.Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
